TRENDS OF OFFICE CHAIRS AT FIRST HAND. TRIP TO ORGATEC-2016

“The appearance of office furniture should not be underestimated. It affects the productivity. It is important where a person works– in a beautiful office or in a burying place of shelves or folders”. These words open the catalogue of the first “Office trade fair” in Cologne. It was 1953, and the world was remembering what it is to live beautifully. We, the first inhabitants of the third millenium, and courageous experimenters of the end of the second millennium gave us a desire to surround ourselves with stylish things. Or sit on them.
Representatives of Belakanton visited the leading exhibition of the modern office world Orgatec-2016 in Cologne, Germany. Traditionally, there were a lot of solutions for every centimeter of any office of the planet, but we were, first of all, interested in chairs.

By the way, Sokoa company, one of the leaders of the market of office furniture, arranged an excellent presentation this year. Many models are available in Officetonlink for those, who is looking for a very good office chair or comfortabledesk chair.

What is fashionable today to sit on, what trends will rule tomorrow, why is the most popular thing losing the ground, and is it normal? All these and much more are provided below.

Future belongs to small studios

Among 10 manufacturers of office armchairs and chairs, 7 are small creative workshops. The branch quickly gets rid of passion for gigantism and concentration. Certainly, there are monumental corporations that manufacture millions of chairs, but they do not exert great pressure on the competition within the market.

Young and talented teams are able to offer bright ideas and support them with quality. The consumer is provided with a large choice and everyone finds something that corresponds to his tastes and habits. Everуbody is happy.

The number of workplaces is reduced

But it does not mean that people are subjected to wholesale redundancy: the meaning of a working place is vague and undefined. At the moment many European organizations adopted the formula “100/70”: 70 workplaces account for 100 employees.

Not everyone needs his desk and chair, everybody has laptops and tablet computers. Some people feel great on a couch, a part of employees appreciate a remote work. It was repeated multiple times at the exhibition that soon the formula will change to “100/50”.

Nothing is going to work out without trend following

Atleast in Europe. Here, it is very closely watching how the company meets modern concepts and trends. Like, if you do not follow your own office and use outdated things, then what kind of creativity and freshness it can be expected fr om your services? What now starts to become new trends in Belarus, in some kilometers to the west from Minsk it is a reality and a part of business culture. What does your guest or client sit on?! In a couple of years it will be crucial as soon as people who travel since their childhood and do not remember the world without Internet – the so-called Y generation – will rule the market.

Armchairs and chairs of the future is a greeting to the 60th

Europe has made the improvement of the working space its policy long ago and now it is a fundamental trend of everything that is developed here. It also concerns office armchairs and chairs.

Survey statistics shows that an ideal place for work for an average European employee is a place wh ere there is water, grass, stones. In simple words, wildlife. He wants to sit in a chair made of natural materials. Therefore, at the exhibition Orgatec-2016 there are a lot of models of wood, genuine leather and fabrics are widely used: linen, felt, wool. Similar perceptions were in the office of the 60th and only later it gave way to a transcendentfunctionality with dozens of glass concrete floors of business centers. It is impossible to say that multifunctional armchairs and chairs stand on the sidelines: there is a large and steady demand on them. But in European realities such accessories cost from 500 Euros per unit.

The most popular colors of armchairs and chairs are pastel

Achievement of the feeling of office freshness and modernity with the help of bright accessories of acidic colors is becoming a thing of past. Strict and ruthless business world needs a little tenderness. Most of armchairs and chairs displayed at the exhibition were of mild green, rose, orange and even grey colors.

The most expensive armchair and work training

An unusual masterpiece presented at the exhibition will cost 4,000 Euros. It is convenient to sit in any position, the blood circulates freely in the body, its form adapts to the anatomy of the owner.

It is convenient for everybody. At least, the developer declares that. Atfirst glance, this is just a designer accessory that demonstrates a flight of imagination of an artist. A few questions arise at once: how sit in it? How get in it? How will it look in the office?

The last question has an original answer: “It depends on how to look”. All other questions have much more restrained answers: the developer assures that the armchair was designed under careful guidance of doctors and engineers and it will be really comfortable. So, the time will show if this new development finds its buyer.

An interesting new development offsetting minuses of a sedentary life-style relates to armchairs onlyindirectly. This is a special table top that is lifted with an electric drive stimulating for a standby work.

This trend was first of all to the taste of IT companies. They say the demand is observed in Belarus as well. By the way, various tracks and vestibular training simulators can be installed under such tables.

Draft to privacy

“Open spaces”continue to win minds of company’s leaders, but it is not always comfortable.Let’s put it this way, it is almost uncomfortable for an employee.  “Working intima” is important. An employee often subconsciously perceive “open space” as a private space (especially after a great experience of work in a usual office), and all others as guests intruding into their privacy.

At the exhibition together with a range of armchairs were presented soft noise-attenuating partitions, with the help of which even “openspace” can be divided into clearly defined zones. The design is easy to assemble and disassemble, changes its form serving as “static wall”. It turns into a small room. Conveniently!

There are more interesting solutions

It is important to understand: Orgtec-2016 with its motto “Creative work” is a demonstration of flight of thoughts and general trends.

Only commercially successful ideas will survive: the majority will appear in the notebook “It was prospective”locked in the furthest drawer. According to the discussions of experts at the exhibition, they have high expectationsfor a lifting electrically driven table top and pulling off armchair.Health is a chief trend in an office culture and it is fought for without compromises.

After decades of monotonous minimalism and uniformity such strives seems a breath of fresh air.
